These Refillable Drink Mugs at Disney World are fantastic souvenirs to collect and are the perfect size to carry around while tackling the Disney Parks.

How Do Disney’s Refillable Drink Mugs Work?

The 16oz insulated Refillable Drink Mug comes with an RFID Chip that allows the drink dispensers to read your cup and allow fill-ups. 

RFID = Radio Frequency Identification i.e. Disney Magic

To Use:

• Place the mug on the flat surface below the soda dispenser and select the drink option you would like.
• The machine will fill up your mug, and once full the screen will show a “Fill Complete” message.
• There is a “No Fill” period, a 2-minute wait between refills, in which you cannot fill your mug.

This does not apply to Tea, Coffee, or Hot Chocolate….only the fountain drinks.

~ Tea, Coffee, and Hot Chocolate are complimentary with your Disney resort stay.

What is the Cost?

For Disney Resort guests who purchased a Disney Dining Plan Option the Disney Refillable Drink Mugs are FREE!

Well, they’re not free…they’re included with the purchase of your Disney Dining Plan.

You can purchase/pick up your Refillable Drink Mug at any Resort Food Court or Quick Service Restaurant.

For Disney lovers not purchasing a Dining Plan option, you can purchase a Rapid Fill Refillable Mug at any Disney Resort.

Thanks to the handy little RFID chip there are now daily plans you can purchase for the length of your stay.

The plans are as follows:

(1) Day- $8.99           (2) Days- $11.99           (3) Days- $14.99   Full Length of Stay- $17.99

**If splitting your stay between two resorts let the Cashier know (where you pick up your mug) and you can use the same mug the entire length of your stay.

Refillable Drink Mug Refill Locations:

You can use your mug at All Disney Resorts Quick-Service Dining Refill Stations including Value, Moderate, and Deluxe Resorts.

You cannot use your mug at any of the Parks…however…we took ours with us to the parks and asked for plastic cups of ice water at the Quick Service Restaurants.

Two FREE cups of ice water fill up one Refillable Drink Mug, so that helped out a lot, plus there are water fountains all around the parks you can use as well.

and sometimes your Refillable Drinks Mugs end up in your Disney Park pictures!!

Extra Tips

The New Rapid Fill Refillable Mugs that were just released last month do not have handles. 

I’m not sure how I feel about that but I will definitely let you guys know after our December trip.

Update: By the time we went on our December Disney World Trip, Disney had stopped using the handle-free mugs and went back to the previous Rapid Fill Refillable Mugs with handles.
