Getting My Drink On at Beetle House NYC
BEETLE HOUSE! BEETLE HOUSE! BEETLE HOUSE!
…and magically we were transported to New York City…
and the coolest themed bar in the East Village!!
This Tim Burton themed bar was an absolute must-do for a fan like me of Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands, Beetlejuice, Batman (I’m saying Michael Keaton is the best Batman)…and countless other classics!!

1st Drink: This is Halloween
๐ถBoys and girls of every age wouldn’t you like to see something strange๐ถ
It’s the This is Halloween Drink!!ย
A concoction made of Fireball, Sour Apple, Pumpkin Liqueur, and Apple Cider it was very tasty…
and a great start to the night!
2nd Drink: Glen or Glenda
This one had a bite!ย
Poisons and Elixirs are right!!
A mixture of Tequila(yowza ๐ฏ ), Mango, Lime, Agave Syrup, and Chipotle Powder.
This drink was really good until that chipotle kicks you in the throat!!ย
This drink is aptly named for sure!!
(See Tim Burton’s Ed Wood if you’re not catching the reference)
3rd Drink: Beetle’s Juice
Of course, we had to order The Beetle’s Juice at Beetle House!!
This one was my absolute favorite of the night!!ย
Tequila(again, really?!), Muddled Blackberry…I didn’t even realize I liked muddled blackberry and Cranberry Juice.
I was feeling the buzz!
4th Drink: ย Barnabus Collins
Another play on a Tim Burton/Johnny Depp collaboration…
and another favorite movie of mine…Dark Shadows!
This one was my other favorite of the night.
Rye Whiskey, Brown Sugar, Peychaud Bitters, Chocolate Bitters and garnished with an orange wedge…
doesn’t sound like the greatest mixture but it was delicious.
Of course, by this point, my buzz was going strong and we were singing along toย
๐ถjump in de line, rock your body in time, OK, I believe you๐ถ
Oh yeah, the music in Beetle House was on point!
Corpse Bride, Nightmare Before Christmas, of course Beetlejuice, and more played while we continued to sit and get our drink on!!ย
Now for drink number 5!…oooooh girl, you better stop…
5th Drink: Chocolate Chocolate Martini
To seal the deal we decided to end the night with a dessert cocktail.
What better dessert cocktail than a Willy Wonka themed drink!!
The Chocolate Chocolate Martini!!
I would have swam in this Chocolate Chocolate Martini for sure!ย
Did you guys know?!?ย The Chocolate River sequence in Tim Burton’s Charlie and the Chocolate Factory was actuallyย 192,000 gallons of faux melted chocolate.ย
Tim Burton wanted the river to look more realistic than the “distasteful” river from the first movie.
Nine different shade of chocolate were tested before he picked the perfect one!!
How awesome is that?!
Be sure to check out all the other big city fun I’ve had over in the NYC section of Vivacious Views!!ย
What’s your favorite Tim Burton film?!?ย ย
Let me know in the comments below!!
I’ll leave you guys with my favorite Tim Burton poem:
VooDoo Girl
Her skin is white cloth,ย
and she’s all sewnย apart
and she has many-colored pins
sticking out of herย heart.
She has a beautiful set
of hypno-diskย eyes,
the ones that she uses
to hypnotizeย guys.ย
She has many different zombies
who are deeply in herย trance.
She even has a zombie
who was originally fromย France.ย
But she knows she has a curse on her,
a curse she cannot win.
For if someone getsย
too close to her,
the pins stick farther in.
